So the people who pre-paid will be getting the mirror polished ones with the half inch hole predrilled right?

Well, I hope that everything is ok in Lowdpypes' family.. He had said that his dad was not well... I hope that isn't the reason for the very long delay

Yeah, he's been going through some tough times with his parent's health. I too hope that all is OK with them. I've been pretty worried, as he hasn't posted since early June.

Where`d you get the inspiration for your design?
    :D

I made the same bracket, and one for my buddy "carsonm" but ran away from the idea of making more when asked, too much hassle for to little money.

I have to say that I found mine wasn`t strong enough on my first gen with only the holes that the lens mounts with, I`m surprised that is is acceptable, since the weakness is with the part you mount to, not the bracket itself. My four foot antenna made the whole lens assembly wobble around quite a bit.
I reworked my original design to include two more mounting bolts, and it worked like a charm.

I tried the idea of a spring mount before the antenna, but I find that off-road your antenna constantly beats the side of the truck around that hatch window beam. After a few trips the spring relaxes even more and it is always hitting, wearing the paint.

My CB works great, after I nailed down an initial ground problem.
The antenna I used has the nylon spacers, but they are for keeping the positive signal from grounding to the mount. The antenna still needs to ground to frame.

I think this position is fantastic for an antenna!

I would suggest the driver`s side for the mount, since it is easier to keep an eye on whille off road, in case you catch it on something, etc.

Oh and my work of art can be found in my sig, of course.

    Sorry everyone...

I hate that there has been such a long delay on these... just a whole lotta shit going on, not to mention "a friend" that was making these kinda stiffed me around $400 but, if they aren't in by monday, I'm getting them done locally and I'll swallow the extra cost.... as for the delay, my parents went under the knife cause my dad had a kidney transplant and my mother was the donor. This all happened around the same time I got my business up and running so I've been running around like crazy.

Seems like when something goes wrong, everything begins to fall apart... lol... while I was out of town with my fam at the hospital my AC at the house went and my water pump for the house burnt up...

But NOW, everything is smoothing out and the rents are doing great. Everything is working out great for both of them and my dad is almost back to normal. I will take care of this bracket stuff this week, one way or another and they will all be polished as per someone's request at no additional cost. If you want one and haven't already paid, there will be plenty to go around as I am having 30 driver's sides and 20 passenger sides made.

Again, I can't apologize enough for someone else's ignorance... I'll try and make it up to you all.

    Thanks for understanding,
    Lowd.

Well I'm glad to hear that everything is starting to get better with you and your family. I think a lot of people including myself thought something horrible happened.

Sean, glad to hear your mom and dad are doing better. That's the most important thing you had to worry about; the brackets were trivial. Anyhow, I will be glad to fianlly get them. Just keep us updated. Thanks.

i ordered a k40 antenna from some place online but I am sure you can get them on ebay. it's just a 40" adjustable fiberglass antenna. Another good antenna is a firestick. Again, you can get them just about anywhere, just do a search. checkout http://www.flyingj.com/

Yea, just PM me the info and I'll reply with my info. Take care.
