    hi,.... new to this site,....have a 99 sport, went three yrs with no problems now they are surfacing,first my drl's went out, then my autodoor locks, o/d wont engage the light on the dash wont even turn on, bout the same time i lost my back up lights, any of this stuff related and has anyone else experienced this?.......thanks guys

    sounds like the fuse of these items are all blowing... check ur owner's manual for the fuse box locations - the manual will also tell u which fuse is hooked up to what.

    do note that your X has more than one box of fuses - one on the left end of the dash and one at the left-rear corner of the engine bay (this one also has relays) . most of the items you've mentioned should have a fuse at the left-end of the dash.

    If any of these fuses have blown - replace them (they are dirt cheap at most stores). Run the car, if the fuse(s) blow again, then there is a bigger problem causing them to blow.

    also note that the cover for the fuse box at the end of the dash should have a few spare fuses.

    thanks for your response izwack, but i checked the fuses in both boxes, with a continuity tester and they all seem fine, forgot to mention that on occasion the lights under my mirrors work whenever they want to when i use my remote for the door locks,......geez cant wait to see what goes next....any other ideas are greatly appreciated...thanks

    Could be a problem with the GEM. It does control all things electrical in the Ex.

    General Electric Module - usually found in the dash behind/beside the radio...

    Do a search for Autolocks - it may have been disabled it from the keypad outside (how? i dunno, but worth a shot)
