I'm still into the NES and SNES... and today I picked up a complete original gameboy system for $5!!!

    Gameboy
    rechargeable battery back
    magnifier
    light
    speakers
    4 games
and a nuby padded carry case...

also has the 4 player adapter thing, earphones and extra cables..

Thought that was the bargain of the year!

I kept my NES, along with a second redesigned control deck, my SNES, and all the games I bought too. Good thing, they seem to be worth hundreds of dollars now.

    I still have a couple older games/systems..

On the N-64 I have Turok, Golden Eye and a few others.

I have a Cocktail style (table top) Asteroids Delux

I also have two kaypro II CP/M computers which have Colossal Cave Adventure, Zork II and a few other really simple games.. This computer doesn't even support block graphics.. its all Text Characters.. even the space invaders looking game.

I also have the Frotz Z-machine interpreter for the Iphone. That way I can play all the old z-machine games like Colossal Cave Adventure, Zork, Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and more.

Busted out the Sega a few months ago to play an NHL '94 tourney... Sega thumb was back after 6 hours... :)

Can't get into new games, I'm not much interested in the FPS games, and that's all that seems to be big now a days. Or Madden, and I never got into Madden, and now it's too complicated to learn. :D

I had the first pong game... Does that count :p

The first pong game was MECHANICAL.

Hadn't thought of this in years... Just looked it up.

My father was in advertising, and I wound up with some cool stuff that he got from the manufacturers.

Once I got sick of playing it, and it didn't take long... I dissected it to see what made it tick... Of course it never went back together :(

Yes, Intellivision, 2600, NES, Game Boy, and vintage PC. I don't actively collect anymore, I just play the games, most of my holy grails have been found.

I do have a funny Explorer anecdote with vintage PC hardware. Back when this stuff was so cheap they'd pay you to take it away, we overloaded the Explorer with 40-ish old 486 and 386 PC's, and so many cables running all over inside the cabin that it looked like Emmett L Brown was preparing to wire the truck up for time travel....or a large late 80's mobile data center at the very least. Made a killing on the Bay with a lot of that stuff over the years, funded my move to Washington quite well, plus a new Slave and Clutch.

Who remembers Vectrex? It was a self contained unit with it's own screen, a joystick that folded down and out on the front. It took cartridges for the various games and had a colored screen overlay depending on which game you were playing.

The graphics were just like Asteroids, Scramble, etc. I had one when they came out in the early 80's but the screen went out sometime in the late 80's and threw it away. Probably could've been fixed but I was a dumb kid and didn't know better...hindsight.
