Ok, first off I am trying to make a form. I have it the way I want. I put in the e-mail in which to mail the results, and I put in the link for the confirmation page. Then I loaded it on the web. But when you hit the submit button, it gives a "page not found".

      It's trying to find http://www.4x4ord.com/html/--WEBBOT-SELF--

I have no file named that.

You can try my test form at http://www.4x4ord.com/html/Join1.htm

Then secondly, I'm trying to put on buttons, but on the web, they look grey. You can't see any words, and don't have any links. You can see that test page here http://www.4x4ord.com/html/index1.html

I am wondering if I don't have the Frontpage Extension loaded. Does anyone know where I could get them if that is the problem.

      Any thoughts!?!

I remember having troubles with this a few years ago at college. Damn, I can't remember what it was. I think it was that it needed a e-mail server and a client address which the results would be sent.

I may have the notes somewhere or a friend with the answer. I'll try to get back to you later or tomorrow...

Honestly it is probably easier for you to just learn HTML..front page is a good software to help you out, but ultimately, you will need to learn basic HTML sooner or later.

I was thinking either have it open the persons main mail service, or just e-mail me the form. I really new with this so I don't really know how it is supposed to work.

Do I delete the code webbot self or what?

What should I put in for the form properties?

I guess just explain how I'm am supposed to set it up. I guess by opening the users e-mail and having them send it.

You don't even need a book...I built my website with Front Page 2000....www.oldtonew.com but basically wrote all the code myself and used Front Page for WYSIWYG and other perks, ya know. I used some website HTML tutorials and stuff, I didn't even buy a book. Do a search for like HTML tutorials, and HTML sites, etc.

first become familiar with the basic HTML... then find a site that has a form on it and steal it... then make it work for you... thats the easiest.

Awhile back I had a website on Yahoo! websites, and they had a script you would send an email through and then you could tell it where you wanted to send the form results. But I built the site by hand and coded the form and everything they way my book that I learned from told me to.... right now I'm learning Dreamweaver so I can't help with FrontPage, but I'd say go somewhere like http://www.htmlgoodies.com and look it up..... good luck!

I would recreate a small test form on a new page with only the submit button ( and reply) and maybe one text box. Just to test with. Take all of the defaults and mail to your address.

When I have created forms to email, I have not changed the filename, FP automatically inserts a filename, something like this:

      /_private/form_results.csv

then i just added my email address.

The instructions and latest extensions are available from here:

Ok, I stoled some code from another website, which does kind of what I want. I think I set it up good.

If you guys wouldn't mind checking this form and trying to submit it. I believe it will work, but I still have to "name" the boxes and make sure it works before I put it on the web.

      Thanks!!
