Apple CarPlay USB Dongle For Almost Any Car!!!!

OMG!! In my hours and hours of research to upgrade MFT to SYNC3 on my 2016 explorer so that I can have apple carplay I came accross this.

This could be the solution we are all after instead of having to change the entire unit.
Is this legit? Has anyone tried this?

I don't think the factory radio is android based.

One of the requirements for that to work.

OK I know I’m beating a dead horse here but I updated my sync 3 system my iPhone works with Siri but I don’t see any of the apps on the display. Do I have to change the USB interface and if so does anyone know what part # to get for a 2016 explorer sport that has the single USB and SD card combo

You updated the software in the original MFT system or you swapped out the MFT system for SYNC3?

MFT does not support apps.

I thought I had sync3. It’s the larger screen? Anyway I updated the original equipment.

16s came with SYNC2/MFT, not SYNC3.
