My '94 auto hubs don't seem to be working. They will and then they won't. Either one of them would go into permanent lock or they wouldn't engage at all, even though you could hear the cam doing it's job. They are clean with just ATF in them and one rattled. It was the outer gear cluster that is held in by the huge springs under the nylon washer. The gear moves up and down freely inside a nylon cage. Depending where it stops in there, causes the problems I am having.
So, what is wrong here?
