Blueka's "Pickle" Registry....

Since 2005 when I bought "Betty", my UK Explorer, I've wanted a sport...

well, now that I live in Canada, the chance has presented itself for me to get one...

This one.... it's a 99 sport, 4.0 SOHC... it's a total write off for the moment... but when I saw the advert on Kijiji I couldn't say no. It needed some love and I wanted a project to get stuck into, so I did my research and found out how much parts are gonna cost me etc etc.

So. I present.. Pickle.. (cos it's green and in a right mess)

Lmao that's funny

I went away for Easter, and due to taking the dogs with us, Trouble was full, so I had to take Pickle too.

Well, the CEL came on straight away.. scangauge gave me 1 of the 3 codes, which was a P0300... Generic Misfire detected...

I bought a new scanner today... and got the following

P0300 - Generic Misfire Detected
P0455 - Generic Evaporative System Leak Detectec (Gross Leak/No Flow)
P0307 - Cylinder 7 Misfire Detected

Explains the 15mpg highway I was getting... :(

I also met up with vroomzoomboom and took him for a spin...

Good news though, my truss arrived

i just noticed 007 sits as high as pickle *snicker snicker.
good to meet up with you again si, and thanks for the needed parts. yea, i know pickle runs way better then it did here. it always sucks when you get to find your "problems" on a road trip. however, you will kill two birds with one stone on the misfire problem.
the evap code hopefully wont be a ***** to find.

I ain't looking for it tonight... I'm doing laundry instead... the joys of going away.. hopefully next time you see her, she'll be rocking long arms and 37s

Great thread, long but def great to see the progress.

Thanks! It's been a lot of work, but, I love it, still working on the SAS project, but, I'll get there...

I haven`t driven Pickle since the end of April, as the Mustang has had plates on it... so, today, I decided to check out the reason for the misfire, cylinder 7, I pulled the plug.... and while it was oily on the outside, the important end seemed to be ok.... so... to be safe, I ran a different plug and I still have a misfire under load...

So, I`m hoping it`s just a crappy wire... That`s next to check.. but first... .Lunch

well, finally picked up my supercharger at the weekend (thanks vroomzoomboom) and after rolling over the 200k kms mark, I got home and worked out that Pickle returned 20mpg combined.

I also did this
