My all season is 245-60/R18.

Thanks,

As far as staying within the maximum diameter variance of 3% (-0.1%), yes you can, but going to a 17" wheel on a 2014 may not work although there a couple members who have done it. Midway through the 2013 model year the brakes on all models were upgraded to slightly larger ones. I would suggest staying with 18" wheels. Are you considering Winter tires on the 17" wheels. Ae you looking to buy 17" or do you have them?

The reason I'm asking is someone offered a great deal of that size off his Explorer 2014 Base. Not sure if it will fit.

Ask them if you can try fitting one on before you decide to but them. I used the Base 17" steelies on my 2011 Ltd, but have used the 18" on my former 2014 MKT and am using the same 18" on my current 2017 Explorer.
