Check engine light on, rpms jumping

2 days after I buy my explorer sport, the check engine light comes on, and right before the tranny changes gears, the rpms jumps about 750 rpms. Anybody know what this could be? Thanks

read the codes, and bring the results back. Simply asking what a check engine light can be narrows the possibles to about 300 things.
