Check Engine Soon

I got the dreded orange light showing "Check Engine Soon"... i´m not shure about what happened, because the car is running fine, no problems with horsepower or fuel consumption... the light´s been on for some days and i´m afraid to take tha car to the dealer, because i will be drained of my money for shure...

Do you know of possible causes fpor this light to go on??

Many possible causes. Take it to Auto Zone, or you local auto parts store, and ask them if they can read the codes from your car. Then post, or better, search, here on the forum, and I'm sure you'll get lots of help.

Could be a plethora of causes.

You need to scan and post the resultant code(s) here.

How many miles on the vehicle? More than likely Oxygen sensor or EGR valve or emission related. (if you have around 100,000 miles). But, as stated, you need to pull the codes.
