Maybe it is the blend door actuator?

Try opening the glove box door and listen, the blend door actuator is right behind it if that is what is making the noise.

What can be done?

Try opening the glove box door and listen, the blend door actuator is right behind it if that is what is making the noise.
If that is The reason for The clicking sound, what can be done? Thanks for The input, Brian

The blend door actuator motor has broken teeth/gears. Those are made of plastic, there is nothing you can do but replace that actuator.
Probably the door is stuck on "heating" now (if you have heat), but when you will need A/C it will not work.
