Below is nothing special, but I liked that you can see the capillaries through the leaves.

jt, is your lens clean. Sounds like a dumb thing to say, but it seems that a lot of things are more blured to left of vertical. Look at your first pic and look at the veins in the leaves. Also I saw the same thing in another close up of a flower.
Might just have got a little finger smudge on the lens.

This is a long thread so this might have been mentioned, but if you want super close pics, use a cam corder. In record mode, you can take pics. My spy cam takes pics w/max X10 zoom, but in record mode, max x700. I got sample here somewhere...

    Yeah-
the eye spots are cobalt bue-gold and burgundy colored rainbow-and the leading edge is burgundy colored-more red than the picture captures. One or 2 usually follow a full moon around my yard.

I need to post the pic of a tiny praying mantis I took last month.

He was hard to get a pic of as he was a fast little bugger.

Well, this thread inspired me, so I went and took some pictures around the house today. Only after coming in did I realize that somebody played with my camera and changed the res to 640x480....so these are actually full size:D
..bastards...I think I know who it was too:shifty_ey

    Camera Cannon Powershot S3 IS

Needless to say, because of the resolution being changed, the detail was not what I was hoping for.

Any tips for bringing out better color?

Edit: Oh yeah, my attempt at being "artsy"

Edit...ok, let's add a cool action shot while I'm at it...
