Hey, just had a 1996 Explorer XLT sport given to me and it only has 38,000 miles on it. Anyhow I’m going to keep it and drive it but I am wanting to lower three inches in front or rear our four whatever is necessary to get the stance I want. it and put 95 cobra wheels on it. The size I want to use is 17x9 in front and 17x10 in the rear. Has anyone ever done this before? If so what does it require and what what sizes. I’m also having a hard time finding a decent lowering kit. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

There really isn’t a lowering kit. Adjust the torsion bars, and add blocks to the rear axle. Cobra wheels should bolt up. I’d run the same size wheel, front and back if you are 4wd.
