coolant temperature sensor

My temperature gauge is not working after installing a new thermostat housing and the coolant temperature sensor (2004 Ford Expl. Sport Track) Any help? Any idea how can be fixed?

Did you replace the ECT sensor? IIRC, the 2004 ST's lower housing only has one port and uses only an ECT sensor. There is a second gauge sender used on 2001-03 models. Make sure you used the DY1269 ECT sensor or equivalent, and NOT the SW6146 gauge sender. The correct OEM sensor has a flange on the end, the gauge sender does not. Click "more info" to compare pics. Is the wiring OK?
