Well, I'm finally ready to start building my own box. I took at trip down to Lowes to look at prices for sheets of MDF. I didn't really find any lumber that was called "MDF", but I found 5/8 particle board that looked just like MDF, would that be OK to use? Also, what should I use to seal up the joints on the inside? What kind of screws sould I use?

particle board is all pretty much MDF now, it used to be light density. normal caulking, and drywall screws, good luck!

no don't use particle board. go to home depot they have mdf.

that stuff at lowes is fine. I use Liquid Nail and drywall screws to attach everything. Remember not to put too much pressure of the screws when driving them in. That stuff will tend to chip off when screwing on the edges. The Liquid Nail will keep everything tight and seal it pretty well. Then go around the inside with some silicone or chaulk with silicone.

Good Luck!

Robb
