simply awesome. i never really was that crazy about anything bigger than an 18 on an explorer, until i saw all of the pix of your X. just a suggestion, but i have ta agree with Pete, ditch the nerf bars. no big deal if you like them, i just think it would look much better without. and maybe later on paint all the grey trim black to match.

i agree with james T, matt your next step should be the painting of your lowering trim.... it would look real good, and again those rims look great.

I can honestly say that your truck is the nicest 3rd generation(uhh..are the 2000+ exploreres considered 3rd gen??) explorer that I have ever seen. Honeslty I am not too big of a fan of them, mostly because of the plastic, but with those 20s it reminds me of a mini Escalade almost. Its not too flashy but it is perfectly customized. You are a genius man! Congrats!

I agree with Silver. That is by far the best looking lowered sport that I have ever seen. You hit the look just right without going overboard with lots of ugly chrome.

Looks good. I painted my calipers with high temp silver and had to have the paint blasted off about 3 weeks later because it wasnt letting the heat out and it burned all the grease off the sliders. Seems like every mod I do causes problems.

    Black,
If you're still aorund......So two years later your caliper paint looks ______? Just wondering cause a few $$bucks for a can of Duli-color is much cheaper that the $40.00 for the G2 kit. Just wondering how your method is holding up

They still look good, not nearly as bright, but still solid red. I will take some pics and post them.

Yes, I painted them with the pads on...

    Painted with mask on:

Mask removed, not a drop on the rotors:

when i had my accord i did the same thing, even the same color red. it did fade over time, and what really dulled it was when you got some wheel cleaner on the red. maybe putting some clear coat on would help, but most likely you are just going to have to repaint them when needed.
