The rear differential was just rebuilt/replaced in my 2003 4wd Ford Explorer. It is making noise again and I wonder about the fluid that was put in it. Any recommendations - do I need to do a complete fluid change? TIA

Define noise... saying the read differential in a 2003 explorer is making noise is kind of like saying water is wet.

I bought a used 04, 120k miles. It had the chatter when turning while taking off from a stop. Limited slip (towing package). I did a drain and refill with Motorcraft full synthetic 75W-140 and a bottle of the Motorcraft friction modifier. I followed the fill procedure of the TSB; fill until it runs out of the fill plug, put the plug back in, remove the ABS sensor on the top and put another 8 ounces (I think, double check that amount) in. Worked great in mine, the chatter was gone. I think that I spent about $50 at the dealer for everything.
