I just bought this a couple days ago, and should be getting it tomorrow. I'm not new to computers or Windows, but I thought a tablet would suit me well. It is convertable. I have been able to use my 2001 Apple PowerBook G4 in all classes (high school) except math (trig), where all my scribbles would be far too hard to type.

It's an Acer Travelmate C100. A little underpowered, but I won't be pushing much through it. I've been thinking up the idea of never letting it connect to the internet, since I have Macs to do that and there's far too much adware, worms, viruses, etc to bulshyt with.

    Comments? Thanks.

Wacom tablets? I think so.. it's more for artists. Why spend the $100+ when you can buy paper and a pen?

Not exactly. It's a convertable tablet laptop. It probably does have Wacom guts though.

If you have a purpose for it, thats great. I'm sure taking notes would be alot easier with it then typing. Although I prefer pen and pencil. Even in my comp info class :p.

I've seen that one before. Overly complicated and just a slab tablet

Pen and paper are better for taking notes.

Powerbook is better for surfing the internets. :p

Well folks. I got it yesterday and have been using it a lot since then. I'm actually writing this r eply by hand. It's really accurate. Not perfect, out a ton better than a Palm IIIe or Newton Message Pad 2000. The 700mh2 Pentium III m is plenty to move it. It'll come in handy when I need to take math notes. Which is why I got it. since I'm already a fast typer. Built in 802.11b is nice. I think it's money well spent.

I've been able to have it in use for a few days now. Math class is nice cuz I don't have to use paper! Yay! My teachers all think it's cool. At any rate, it's more portable to carry than the 15'' PowerBook G4.

My friend had one and used it at school, but the pivot eventually broke and ripped off. He liked it while he had it, but considering it was $3k blown in a year, he wasn't super happy.

Good luck with it though, they look neat.

Good thing is that I'm a good laptop mechanic, and I've only got $600 into it (not including the money spent on the UPS fiasco...)
