I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with the ElmScan 5 (or 4) and/or Scanmaster software.

It is available here is Australia and was looking at getting one for my 2000 Explorer Limited (SOHV 4.0L).

    Any feedback appreciated.

I just bought one. It's a great price for what you get. Reads diagnostic trouble codes, clears the check engine light, and monitors a bunch of data like the ScanGauge II. Real useful to have with a laptop. It's running fine for me with the Windows 7 Ultimate operating system.

I have still not purchased a unit for several reasons.

Still need one and now thinking about the kits that are available to make your own - anyone have any experience with those?
