Engine swap 1998 with 2006?

I need to replace the engine in my 1998 Explorer XLT(V6 4.0 SOHC). I found a 2006 V6 4.0 SOHC from a Mountaineer. They have matching engine codes. Can I use this one? Are the heads and block the same? What, if anything do I have to convert over?

The long block itself is the same but other than that everything on top must be switched over including valve covers. You will also need to pop out a freeze plug on the top for the pcv canister. The timing cover, oil pan and water pump are the same though. Exhaust manifolds might be the same (have not tried) and the front accessory brackets are different.
