engine swap?

      98 explorer sport 4x4
      i just bought a 98 eplorer sport 4x4, and i also have a 327 small block v8, i was wonder if i could manage the swap with out to many problems. thanks

      The engine control computer, the 4x4 computer, and the auto tranny controls all work together based on inputs from each other.

      You would run into way too many problems based on just the computer controlled stuff alone. And that doesn't even touch on getting everything to fit...

      not to mention the tranny itself, and transfer case.

      There would be lots of problems and lots of $$$ to do this. The fabrication work would be incredible. It would be a LOT cheaper to sell your truck and buy a V8 Explorer.

      If you were to do this, you would need to buy a wrecked v8 explorer, and transfer all the external engine parts, manifolds, intakes, and WIRING to the 327 V8. You'll also need a 4R70W transmission, etc, etc. It's a project for sure!
