Will older model hitches fit the 2000? I've heard that it just requires the drilling out of an extra hole.

you can make just about anything fit... but why drill and weeken your frame when you could get a hitch for your year truck and be set? they are not that much $$

      1. The earlier year makes are more plentiful on ebay. ( $20 cheaper too!)
      2. A single drill hole on the frame behind the suspension will not significantly weaken the structure.
      3. Just wanted to know if it is just one bolt. Also, if I were to buy another model and it be the wrong width or drop, it wouldn't fit - because I'm not into too much fab work.

      Anyone know for sure?

I bought a class three hitch off of ebay that was made for a 91-94 and all I had to do was drill one extra hole on each side and it works great... alot cheaper that a class three for a '99, thats for sure.
