This past weekend, I hardwired my dash cam into the overhead console, and placed a switch on the side. I purchased a hard wire kit and had planned to tie into the power for the interior lights. When I pulled off the console, I noticed that there was an 2 wire electrical connector clipped in, right above the garage door opener compartment. there was nothing connected to this, and with a meter, I figured out that it was carrying 12 volts. I used this as my power source and it works great. does anyone have an idea of what this connector is for? I am assuming it's for some accessory that my Explorer doesn't have. The circuit is on a time delay, which I believe it connected to the battery saver. It still has power after the key is out and doors opened, but eventually turns off after more than 30 minutes.
