Quick question, did you fab the rear bumper so that the holes for that nasty plastic cover are gone? Thats what it looks like, if so how did you get rid of that nasty see through section when you lift the tailgate up? You can see right to the frame and spare tire?
I haven't removed the black cover yet. It is still there. I have been looking at that though. What I am looking at doing is take some sheet metal and bend to match the area - then tack it to the body and finish/paint.
I won't be carrying a spare anymore, so I don't need the access to the winch, etc. I just have to cover the area.
I took the plastic off the bumpers and just started from the chrome and worked up. Just covered the holes when I fiberglassed the entire thing.
