Fayetteville Project

Left with 10 days to myself house/dog sitting for my sister in Fayetteville, NC:usa:, I decided I'd do a little work on the 'ol X. First off I knew since I first received the X I really wanted to do some work on that ugly front end, and being a college student, I dont have the cash to get a new front bumper, so I decided I would just re-paint it along with the rear bumper and side moldings. After about a days research I decided on using Krylon Fusion Textured Shimmer in black.

After all the disassembly and a little more research here on the forum, I decided I would also like to take off that bulky front license plate bracket, paint my grill and add some aux lighting.
For the grill I used a base silver and then added a light flat black to give it a nice, distinctive look. Both the silver and black used were high heat resistant paint...I forget which brand or type it was.
And as for my lighting, I decided on mounting 2 100W driving lights behind the grill and 2 55W fog lights in place of the tow hook covers on the lower valance.

Sorry for the short write-up, but I just wanted to share a little of the work I've put into the X. After all the work I am very please with her slightly new appearance. Feel free to ask any questions or add some comments, I'd love to hear some feedback!!!

looks good

it took all of about 8 days from start to finish...but that included 2-3 evenings where I wasn't able to paint because it was raining outside. and when Im actually doing something to the X, Im pretty O.C.D. about it, so it probably took longer than it had to haha.
