I just replaced the shift knob on my 2007 Explorer with the flex shift knob. Worked great for about two months and now once in a while will lock up and will not come out of Park. I take the console cover off and work the screw that attaches it to the shift handle and seems to work fine for a while then locks up again. The release part in the shifter is working back and forth correctly. I see it when I step on the brake pedal. Could the shift knob be to high or to low to cause this problem? I know a bunch of people have done this change. Was wondering if anyone else may have a solve for the problem or something I can try to fix this area.
