Front d-shaft removal, stuck at the diff

Hello all, I am taking off my front driveshaft to diagnose a clunking i am getting, and i got all of the bolts off but the darn shaft won't pop away from the front diff. I am assuming it just pops out... it was pretty caked up with gunk and rust at first so i sprayed some PB blaster on it, but it still wont budge. am i missing something?

Not sure what the Ranger has, but if its the "CV" type of driveshaft, then all you need to do is remove all six bolts and then whack area around the bolts used to be sideways with a rubber mallet or a dead blow hammer.

Yeah, I forgot to mention: the repair manual says "please drop purse first" :p:
