Well, let me know if you got anything good you're looking to unload. ;) I've got a friend selling his Icom 746 Pro. I'd do it, if I didn't think I'd get in trouble at home. ;)

Still no antenna plugged in here, unless we're going to try 20 meters sometime, and even then, it's in the attic and doesn't work all that well.

Ever contact AA6HA in Arizona? I know he is into meteor scatter and moon bounce as well.

I have not found AA6HA in my log. Some parts of Arizona are kind of far to do meteor scatter for me. 1300 miles is about the max on 6 meters and I am QRP on 2 so it is even less there. I have never tried moon bounce yet, but have listened in on some of the big dogs around Houston making Q's with Europe.

    Power cable

So what is the best way to run a power cable from the battery through the firewall in a 2014 Explorer? Pictures would be great.

Rodger, you may get a quicker response in the Modified 2011+ subforum. There may be some guys who have routed wire for audio equipment.

If you could do a step by step article on this with pics I would be glad to set you up with a 3 month Elite Explorer membership.

    Welcome to the forum:chug:

I can't speak for the current generation Explorer, but one can usually find a rubber drain plug under the carpet in the cabin, which leads to the underside. From there you can run the wire up into the engine compartment and straight to the battery. Put some RTV around the coax where it passes through the drain plug.

Great choice! I have an FT-1802, and it's been a solid radio.

Congrats! and stay off of 147.435. that place is only for entertainment!

I have used the Papa system out here for the couple times I played with repeaters. It has pretty good coverage for the SW US.
