First... Hello to all.
We just swaped the engine on a Explorer XLT 99 SOHV.
tHE NEW ENGINE SOUNDS WONDERFULL BUT AFTER 2 MINUTES RUNNING IT STALL AND THE ONLY CODE THAT SHOW UP ARE TELLING "FUEL MIXTURE RICH/POOR". We replaces the "Fuel Presure Regulator"... no help, replaced the fuel filter... no help. Disconected some sensors and no codes came out. Got 3 Brain Boxes from the Junk Yard and the engine do not start with these. We put back the old Brain Box... at least it starts. Is there a chance that the computer went bed in some areas? Meanning only reads some codes??
We have been playing with this engine for about a month.

What year donor motor did you put in? If it was pre 96, then it's an OBDI system that can cause you headaches since the 99 is OBDII.

No SOHC back in the EEC-IV days.

With no more information than we have, there is no way we can make an intelligent offering for you. Well, some may be able to...but I can't! :) Let's start with the ECM you are using. Is it the same one that was in the car with the old engine? And the reason the other PCM's won't start your car is because of PATS.
