2000 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L
Hi,
I own a 2000 Ranger XLT 4.0 V6. The truck currently has 122k on it and just recently about 2k miles ago the o/d light started flashing and the truck began to shift really sloppy between 1st and 2nd gear. I then clicked the o/d button off (when starting the truck before driving), in order to continue driving the truck day to day. I had intentions of fixing this earlier but being a college student with no money its kinda tough. Long story short, I've done some research and it looks like my torque converter is bad in one way or another.

My questions are..
What might the real issue be? How expensive is this to buy and replace on my own with help? Am I better off taking this to a shop to have done? Or sell as is?
