Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a newer car in the new year, and going thru auto trader and ebay I've come across the Ford explorer. Around a 2006 model? It looks awesome! Fits the bill as such, 7 seater, 4x4, big v8 petrol engine. I'm in the UK, so was just wondering if any fellow owners either in the UK or across the pond could tell me just how easy is it to get replacement parts for these cars as and when needed? Would I need to import everything or can our ford dealers over here get parts for the explorer?

Any advice, help guidance or just general abuse welcome

Hi and welcome,

Ford stopped selling the Explorer in the UK in 2001. So any model after that will be an import. So parts will probably not available in normal stores or even dealerships. The best source I know for parts is http://www.rockauto.com . You may be ok with things like plugs, oil filters and such.

as Howard said, rockauto is by far the best for parts, i have also used usautomotive.co.uk and usallparts.com, you can also get parts on ebay
