I have a 1996 Explorer, and it used to have factory fender flares. Well, after 3 of the four being knocked off in parking lots, i decided to just take them completely off. Well, i have holes now. I dont mind the holes, but i was thinking of repainting my truck due to some vandalism a few months back. I was just wondering what would be good to use to cover up the holes. I heard that if i bondo them up, and the bondo is painted over, the paint will come off with any kind of pressure put on it. Is this true? Thanks for any input u guys have!

No, that is not true, but that being said, Bondo is junk.
Use Rage Gold by Evercoat ( see my thread body work 101 )
You will need to weld the holes closed though :(
That is a lot of work to do correctly.

Correct me if I am wrong Monnix, but if he went with a filler, wouldn't he have to make a "dent" at every single hole so that the filler could be sanded flush?

Sounds like a bunch of work for so-so looking gains. I would find myself a new set of flares.

      no not really.
I mean you weld the holes, then grind the weld metal flat.
Unless you are an amazingly gifted welder and grinder, there is gonna be more than a few imperfections to fill.
