You are comparing a Explorer to a Police Interceptor SEDAN not a UTILITY. The UTILITY uses a prop rod as well.
When I was shopping for my Explorer, I opened the hood and thought how cheap a prop rod made the vehicle feel. Wondered where they cut costs elsewhere. Anybody investigated installing struts?
I am shocked that a prop rod is such a point of frustration
I had the prop on my 2011 Ex and now have the struts on my MKT. Really couldn't care less about which one I have or don't have.I am shocked that a prop rod is such a point of frustration
Yes, only one strut. There is no room on the other side. But it works fine.Welcome to the Forum Eric.
Thanks for posting. It appears there is just one strut. Is that correct?

Not that they have reported. This is the only thread on the topic.Interesting. Has anyone installed these?
Please keep us informedWow- Redline is in my town. I will get in touch with them this Fall...
Ford has them but for some reason they are not adding them to the Explorer. See my post 11 for pics of them on my MKT.Hopefully redline comes out with some nicer hood struts for our explorer!
