How many K on your Explorer, And what Repairs recently?

03 explorer sport xlt V6
157k

Recently in past 8 months I've changed all bye my self .

-Thermostat ( gauge was reading cold)
-NGK Spark Plugs & Wires
-4 Monroe Shocks ( still had original shocks)
-all around Brakes & Rotors (overdue)
-Sway bar links
-Heater Control resistor
-Alignment
-Greased the Slipyoke (had bad bump stop)
-Fuel Filter
-6000k HID's
-use synthetic oil every 2500miles

I get big discounts on auto parts so it doesn't pinch the pocket

Next I need to service my tranny, shift fine except for 5th where its a hard shift and flare downshift.

^^^ where did you buy? When we bought our 2014 Kia optima, a good piece of it was to avoid a water damaged car shipped inland....

2002 Ford Explorer XLT 4.0L
-206K miles and the original alternator failed.

05 XLT 134K
AC/Heat Blend Door Actuator
Brakes
Fuel Filter
Need to repair- Driver seat/seat back cushion and springs, TPS alarm, o2 sensors, oh yeah and a front bumper I've taped up since the ice storm when I slid into a few cars.
Anyone know where to get a new bumper(black)?

2002 4.6 4X4

66.5K miles.

All four front ball joints, a/c compressor manifold, 4x4 CM, 4x4 actuator. $700 I wasn't expecting to spend on a garage kept car with 63K and owned by a little old lady who went to ford for everything.

Perhaps she went off road every weekend and that is why the ball joints were shot so prematurely....... and the Ford service LOL

GO Dawgs, you could check RockAuto, they list bumper covers, or try a salvage yard.

Usually when lady driven means not maintained. They usually can't tell when something is up.. Always stay away from lady driven etc

To add more to my list... Ball Joints, Spark Plugs, Wires, Fuel Filter, Coolant.

My '02 Limited 4.6 has about 230k on it (bought it just over a year ago w 228k). I haven't done anything other than jump starting it a few weeks ago because it just sits 90% of the time, and only gets driven 3 - 5 miles at a time once every couple of weeks.

The engine runs great, although it ticks something awful- it just passed smog a few days ago- but the A/C doesn't work (leak), the airbag light stays on, there's a (probable) wheel bearing howl, and the vehicle handling is frightening- possibly the crappy Cooper tires.

Fortunately, this is my weekend beater, bought to haul my mountain bike across town to ride. That's why I've been in no rush to repair anything- I don't want to start sinking money into it. Been thinking about selling it, actually, to buy a pickup instead. Not sure yet, but I have a daughter who will be driving very soon, so will need a more reliable vehicle for her use.

EVERY Ford needs ball joints by then. The joints were fine. But the ford quality boots were gone!
