How many miles do you have on your Explorer. Mine is a 1992 XLT and has about 220,147 on it.

    Just over 390,000 miles..

5th (or is it 6th transmission?). Towing and wheeling plus poor rebuilds..

    Rebuild motor at 355k

Not much else is stock any more..

edit: I think there is actually already a mileage thread out there, but I'm not finding one for first gens..

Our '92 purchased new has about 220k miles, replaced the engine at about 155k but transmission is still going strong. The '94 I purchased as the 3rd owner with 215k or so and had rough use (towing and carrying firewood). It's engine and transmission had been rebuilt and I changed out the rear end with a used one (with just 115k) because it was extremely noisy. It now has about 240k and is also going strong.

I have a 1994 XLT with 132,000 and at lease the second transmission. The transmission was installed by the previous owner from patc so I hope it lasts for a bit.

If I'm reading the odometer correctly, my 94 has 196K and still lights up the first time you turn the key!
