If there is way to clean IAC sensor, please describe it.

The plenum should also be cleaned. Pop off the intake hose and spray some intake cleaner or carb cleaner right into the throttle body. Open it up and spray all around in there. I plan on doing it to mine very soon. I saw Lizardtrac do his and I was suprised at the amount of dirt that came out.

Be careful on the later model Explorers. Some of the throttle bodies have a special coating which can be damaged by solvent. Mine has a warning label on it. The coating is supposed to reduce the gunk build up on the throttle body.

If you have the coating, I would try just wiping it before using carb cleaner.
 






What kind of problems will you see if the IAC is bad or sticking open? I just pulled mine and cleaned it, but didn't fix my high idle problem.
