I can't help but notice the increased number of severe accidents on the forum lately. The kind where everyone's amazed anyone survived. And I'm left wondering how many members haven't been so lucky?

The internet has brought us all in touch with people we'd never have met otherwise, we've made friends and aquaintances on the board, many of whom we will never meet. The vast majority of members aren't people we see posting every day, and many of them probably won't take the time to answer this poll, but I'm still curious...

funny you should bring this up it was just last week after looking at BBQ HOT DOGS Ex that a buddy of mine were talking about this.
he hangs out on a Sport Bike board, so we exchanged passwords and and screen names, just in case of emergency.

I hope neither of us would ever need them though.

There's a few members on my buddylist I talk to regularly, so if something happened to me they can just log on and tell them there. None of my close friends are cool enough to have explorers.

Had an unpleasant call from the doctor, but that wasn't the reason for the thread...

Although I consider some of y'all aquaintances, spoken on the phone or emailed back and forth, I've never actually met anyone in person. We keep talking about how safe our trucks are, and how re-assured we are at seeing what some members have walked away from. (And I don't mean to belittle that, some of the pictures I've seen make me wanna run out and kiss my truck.) But I can't help but wonder how many members just... disappeared... from the board.

We're all here to talk about our trucks, and it just seems odd that we get the chance to pay last respects whenever someone's truck gives its' life for its' occupents, but we don't get the same chance to pay last respects to the driver, the actual forum member, when their truck fails this responsibility. It just strikes me as odd, am I wrong here?

      Now THAT'S morbid.

I suppose someone could be responsible for calling every member once a week to make sure they're still alive...

Actually, the way to do it would to have a site card we could keep in our wallets with directions to pls call so and so in the event of death.
Or better yet, most big city coroners offices scan the deceased for chips, we could all get chipped, get scanned god forbid should something bad happen than the coroners puter would send an email to Rick, is all very simple to set up

No Mo tats fo me dude, spent a ton getting some removed.
If I ever did get another it would have to be on a private part of my bod :D , It would need to be in large script so the coroner could see it.
      Leaves me out :(

How about a sticker something like this on the dash....

If you find this truck totalled and the driver dead, please remove dead driver, hose off bodily fluids and post pics of said smashed truck in the "Whoops" forum of Explorerforum.com.They all like to see twisted metal and smashed glass. Don't tell them I died trying to change a CD, talk on my phone and open a soda while doing 120 down a fire road.Make up some cool story about the crash that does not make me sound like a dumb@$$. Infact, try to make me sound like a hero. And if any of them ask, yes, my widow will be parting out the truck.Thank you. :D

I am curious though, for my own interestes, does it really matter to someone if i am to die and i have never met you in my life with the exception of on the forum? I dont know how to say this withought pissing atleast someone off, but that seems like an awful lot of angst to cary on ones shoulder for someone whom he never met.
