Ignition lock cylinder was replaced and now car wont start help!!!

      So i just replaced my ignition lock cylinder about a week ago and now my battery has died. I found that I forgot to turn the gear back to the start position before I put my new ignition cylinder in. Can i just take it out and put the gears back?
