Hello fellas! Well I have switched all 16 lights in my instrument panel to LED's, the ONLY downside I have found is when the truck is running, the 4x4 button lights are dimly lit. That's not much of a problem though. BUT it made me decide I want to add resistors to the wires so I know everything is working correctly.

I read somewhere, someone who did the LED's kept their CEL stock and maybe a couple others. For what reason? I don't know, but it kinda has me worried lol.

So I ask, does anybody have a wiring diagram or know what wires I need to add resistors to? (Preferably for all lights in the dash as I have no intention of going back to incandescent) I looked and looked but I can't find anything.

Also, should I do a write up on it, if I get the resistor stuff figured out?
I have found it's pretty dang easy when you've done it but it's definitely intimidating the first time. Thought it all could be useful to someone.

Thanks, -Murk

Here are forum-friendly resolution scans. You can see higher resolution by going to the Explorer Photo Gallery, searching on the name (i.e. 62_1) and then clicking on 'View Larger Image' under the image. These are taken from 1994 Ford Explorer Electrical and Vacuum Troubleshooting Manual, a copy of which is always available on eBay for $10-15, and includes schematics, connectors, and locations for everything, including locations within the vehicle. I urge anyone owning an Explorer to grab one.

Cool idea! Thought about it myself, but I figured I'd just replace the burned out bulbs with regular ones. I dislike messing with clusters too much. :p This stems from several issues with another vehicle that made me say "great! It works now. I'm never screwing with it again!" But that was digital.
