Hi all,
I'm prepping my explorer for its yearly state inspection and noticed something a bit concerning- the rubber boot that goes around the intermediate shaft just above the rag joint/steering rack is split completely in two, letting air and water in to these sensitive parts.
I have searched everywhere for a replacement boot but it only leads me to the bellows for the rack itself. I cannot find the boot that fits around the steering column. Even Ford Parts doesn't have it listed, they do however have the entire shaft for $380... not something I want to replace so I want to get this boot fixed, Please if anyone knows where to find this let me know!
Thanks,
Brandon
