Interminent Check Engine Light

Have been getting and Interminent Check Engine Light on my Sport trac for about a Week. Just for a Code reader on it and have not been able to get the Code yet. Today the Speedometer also decided to not work and than came back. When Check Engine light is on the Odomoter and Tripometer read dashes. Any ideas???

dashes of death is what we call them at the dealership. The blank dashes indicate a PCM communication failure. Could be as simple as a PCM relay or fuse to a faulty pcm. I'm not sure you would have such good luck repairing unless you were able to pid monitor you PCM which most people do not have the super scanner to monitor such things usually only dealerships. I hate to say that but right now its either take it to the shop with the capabilities or wait until what is failing fails then try to pinpoint it.
