IRS to SAS Swap

Hey everyone,
New to this forum, I'm just looking to see if anyone has did a IRS to SAS swap on a 2002 Explorer. Im planning on doing this and im wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this or if theres thread somewhere

Based on my limited knowledge of these trucks I doubt you're gonna find anyone who has done a Solid axle in one of these trucks. The only reason I believe this is that the axles go through the frame so doing a solid axle is probably not gonna be feasible.

What are the benefits of SAS over IRS? I guess what I'm asking is it seems like quite an extensive modification, so why do it? Wouldn't handling be negatively affected?
