Is there aa clip to take off before the top plunger will come off?

oops...didnt see that last post of yours. Thx.

Hey Xeek,

Long story short, my rear main job turned into a crankshaft job... How do you like that rock auto crank? Holding up okay?

Thanks man,

Benjam :D

I bought mine from Rockauto also, no issues at all.

They come with sealed power bearings right?

Benjam :D

Yup, mine came with the sealed power bearings to the correct size of what was machined off of the crank.
The machine shop guy said that it was a great deal, and it would cost way more for them to do the same thing.

It cost me $300 to have mine grind and balanced:(

It apparently would have cost me way more than that. I guess a trip to the machine shop in your area to ask the question would be in order.

How much did it run you on rock auto? Guess I need to search the cost for us but was thinking it was way under $300 for us

If I remember, the number in my head was $350.00.
Maybe that was me calculating landed cost (Shipping costs also).

Sounds about right. I couldn't count core return, as shipping that thing across the border was way too much $

damn xeek long time no see, im the dude that bought your old rear axle. glad to see you still have the truck!

Well the crank came in today, with "acl" bearings? manufactured by "tdc". I'm none too pleased.. Calling rock auto in the morning, as their picture clearly depicts sealed power bearings with this crank.

Just read this whole post. Only thing i learned was to not jump right into things and take your time. What a total loss, to bad it only lasted 6300 miles. Did you ever build another, whats the story now??

Mostly due to exhaust causing valve seals to blow, driving through water killed the piston.rings.
And as jd and u have found out from a machine shop, bronze valve guides are the way to go with the valves we have.

Currently just the heads and headers made it over to my rangers engine. Had them refinished and swapped dual springs, bought a 422 cam. And just threw it on my rangers stock bottom end. Been running for around the same, prob closer to 10k miles
