Lighted Shift Knob

I received the above item as a christmas gift. It has 2 wires leading to a black box. One red, one white. The box says 12V. Would it be safe to assume that The white wire is ground and the red wire is hot, and connect it to my indash light switch, so that it only comes on when the lights are on?

That's sweet, I wish they had a black version. Let us know if you have to modify the stick or anything at all to install it.

Try red as 12v first. You won't hurt anything reversing the polarity for a bit.

Well, in regular household wiring white would be your positive and red your negative.... if that helps.... which it probably doesn't... I'll go away now....
