      i want to eventually put a locker on my 1997 explorer, 5.0 automatic etc

      i do have a few questions?
      first being, where can i get a locker at the best price?

      and any other styff someone can tell me

      Are you planning to lock the front or rear axle?

      What type of differential (open, limited slip) do you have in there now?

      i want to say its limited slip with 3.73's

      im up way to early lol i cant think...
      is OPEN the ones that only spin one wheel all the time?
      cause if thats so

      then im pretty sure its limited slip.

      No Mounty no more.
      Yes an open diff only applies power to one side. The easiest way to tell if yo have a limited slip is to look at the axle code. If it has a D for the first digit it is a limited slip.

      ya then its a limited slip then..that and when i was pulling metal pipe concreted in the ground, all 4 wheels had spin marks in the ground.

      I know nothing about lockers, i know about gears and tires, just not about lockers.

      if i get a mechanical locker will it still be fine for daily driving?

      Yeah something like a detroit locker is ok for a dd I have one in my Lightning and love it.
