i was wondering what makes a stock 4.0 sound like a beefy beast. i like the sound a lot and wanted to know what would be the best thing to buy to make it sound like that.

I got dual chamber 2 flowmasters on my 01 sport and i removed the intake silencer. And my explorer sounds very mean and tough.

But i also agree with agr2000 Intake, Headers, Exhaust will make it sound beefy.

Yup, if you got the money get some new headers. The cheaper way would be get an cold air intake kit, and/or muffler.

record a 5.0 mustang going through the gears, then invest all your money in new speakers for your explorer. play the cd over and over with your windows down.
