Hello Everyone,
I have an '03 Mountaineer that we purchased new currently with 97.5K miles. Best vehicle I've ever had in terms of a great quality truck and tremendous reliability. Stumbled upon this forum while looking for a problem regarding a current shifting problem going from D to Park. Seems to hit something when you get to R and then allow you to move to Park on the 2nd attempt.
Have it at the dealer today and they just called while I was typing this stating that it needed a new shift motor which is located within the steering column. $260 parts & labor if anybody else is experiencing this issue.
Good to be part of the extensive Explorer/Mountaineer community!
