Actually you just answered my question. Now that I know some or all CB's do in fact have an output for an external I will make sure the one I buy has one. Also whats a decent cheap cb I can buy? I only need it for when I go wheeling with buddys. I have no need for weather or pa. No bells and whistles. Just a decent cb at a good price.
    Thanks alot

If you're not worried about the "cool stuff" then any cheap radio shack special should work. Just get a decent antenna. I've found that even with my old cheap radio when I had a 5' wilson 1000 whip on the roof, it worked just as good (or better) as this nice radio with a cheap 3' magnet antenna. Mount the antenna high and you'll be fine if everyone stays in a group.

    Thanks bud
As far as the antenna goes, I really like the look of the 4' plastic sheathed ones with the orange tips. Not just like this one but on the same idea:

Well being the A.D.D. freak that I am, I need to keep everything symmetrical. So I want to mount 2 of them on my rear roof rack on either side of my spare. You know what my rig looks like but here is a good pic of the rack without the spare on it:
So I guess what my question is first off if I am able to establish a ground through the rack ( I can make that work ) Can I use two antennas? Is there a connector, a 2 into 1 type of deal? Or will 1 antenna be all show and no go?
    Thanks again bro.

Froader- very nice work on the console. I plan on copying you a little, however mine will be one piece replacing the original center console, and up to the dash how yours is. I'll throw some pics in when I'm done.

Jigga- Radio Shack sells a decent "dual trucker style" cb antenna for like $25-30. it has a single wire that connects to the back of the cb, then splits immediately into two wires, one to each of the antennas. I think the masts are like 3 or 4 feet. it's something to look into. hope that helps a little

If I ever decide to do that, then I'll just scrap the console. Was only ~$30 and something to do this weekend. :)

You're right it's over on the driver side more than the passenger. It's centered on the dash, which is turned slightly towards the driver. When I first put it up against it I was thinking WTF is going on with it, but then I realized the dash was turned a little. It looks much worse than it is. I have plenty of leg room there.

I thought about making it so it was centered on the hump, but I really couldn't be bothered. :) I'm only in it when I drive to the trails and on the trails.

I think that one issue is that you might not get enough distance between the two antennas for it to be optimal. Duals work well on semis 'cause they are far apart. That said, a buddy of mine have a Jeep in H.S. who had dual lighted antennas on his rack, and it worked fine. As you said, something for when you're wheelin', about anything will work.
