My Hobby: Updated/ More photos added of other models

Just thought I'd let everyone in on what I do when I'm not working on cars. I'm working on cars  Their just a little smaller (1/24 scale to be exact). Here's my latest (and most time consuming) project.

Wow, that is frickin awesome! I can see you have put a lot of time into the details, even down to the oversized tach. Is that a 350 Chevy?

Sweet model. It is good to see a cuple of people here share the same hobby:)

Someone should move this to the "Models and R/C forum", as that forum is lacking in threads somewhat.

That is sweet! It almost looks like the real thing. Put it in a patch of dirt or gravel and it would look real. Nice work! Love that clay color on the swampers.

    COOL!!!!!!

Hey Mike, have you ever entered any contest. I belong to a model car club in Kansas City called the Kansas City Slammers. Linberg made a 1/20 scale of the first gen Explorer and AMT made a 96 Limited in 1/25.
Are those tires the ones from American SATCO? The last time I checked they were still on back order.
For those looking for older kits a good place to try is
    www.fantastic-plastics.com
    Another one is www.modelcarkits.com
There are two magazines dedicated to car models,
Scale Auto and Model Cars. Man I could go all night.

The kit started life as a basic Monogram CJ-7 (still available at most hobbie shops), NOTHING is stock from the kit, I built the entire suspension, shocks, roll cage, wireing, guages, drive lines, ect... As for the tires, they are from an aftermarket company called American SATCO, and (like Dan mentioned, they have been on back order for the past 4 years :frustrate: )

Yes, I entered the Jeep in this years Copperstate (CSMCC) show in Phoenix and took Best in Class Light Truck, also last weekend I entered it in a local IPMS show and took 1st. in their automotive class.
If by chance you have the '99-'00 Sacle Auto contest annual, there are a couple pictures of one of my other model in it. On page 38 (photo 5)(description is incorrect though) and on page 50 (photo 3)(description correct).

I know I couldn't make it to the show, but if I built something, could I send it to you and have you enter it for me?

Not a problem at all. a couple of years ago Clyde Alexander had someone bring some of his models over from Hawai.
