So I have a 2000 ranger and suddenly cant get it into gear. When i popped the hood I found some fluid splattered on the inside of the hood, all over the power steering fluid cover (filling the top inside of it), all over the black plastic knob marked pp-gf30 and over some hoses and what not. I really cant see where the fluid (reddish ) could be coming from. Or whether it has anything to do with it not going into gear. I know it has the hydraulic master
    Any ideas?

Check the little clutch reservoir first, them check brake fluid and steering fluid.
